Holland & Knight Opens Denver Office With Addition of Litigation Group
DENVER (February 9, 2015) – Holland & Knight today announced a significant expansion of its litigation practice in Denver with the addition of six lawyers. Aaron Bradford and Thomas Leland have joined the firm as partners, along with senior counsel Leah Capritta and associates Maxwell Shaffer, Cindy Pham and Pippa Balestrieri. All of the attorneys in the new group were previously with Lathrop & Gage. With the additions, the firm will formally open an office in Denver.
“Aaron and Tom are accomplished trial lawyers with outstanding reputations in the Denver legal community and beyond,” said John Hogan, chair of Holland & Knight’s Litigation Section. “We are delighted to welcome their team to the firm and look forward to their contributions to the growth of our litigation practice.”
Mr. Bradford, whose practice focuses on patent litigation and general commercial litigation, will become the executive partner of the Denver office. He represents companies involved with healthcare, hospitality, transportation and energy. Mr. Bradford has been recognized by the Denver Business Journal as one of the area’s “40 Under 40” business leaders and was a recipient of the Denver Bar Association’s “Young Lawyer of the Year” award. He received a J.D. degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a B.S. degree magna cum laude from Arizona State University.
“Holland & Knight’s litigation practice is one of the largest and most respected in the country,” said Mr. Bradford. “I am honored to join a team with such depth and breadth of talent.”
Mr. Leland, who was co-chair of the business litigation practice at his former firm, handles a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, particularly in the energy and natural resources industries. He also represents mining companies, telecommunications firms, software companies, entertainment and television groups, hospitals and healthcare providers, and colleges and universities on matters ranging from breach of contract, trade secret and non-competition cases to environmental and land use matters. He received a J.D. degree, with honors, from George Mason University School of Law and a B.A. degree from the University of Colorado.
The new group of Holland & Knight litigators joins Denver partners Mark Goldschmidt and Shawn Turner, who have substantial transactional practices focusing on financial services.
