  • What do you mean by a "one-firm" concept? 

    Holland & Knight is a global firm. No single office is considered to be the “headquarter office.” The firm’s technology links all of our practice groups and lawyers, enabling us to serve clients regardless of location.

  • Can you describe your lateral hiring process?

    Typically, lateral candidates can expect to meet with several partners and associates in the office of interest. If, following those meetings, there is mutual interest in moving forward, we will provide you with our due diligence questionnaire for completion. Following your submission, and our review, we may provide you with an offer of employment (subject to conflicts and reference checks). Upon the conclusion of the due diligence process and your acceptance, we will coordinate a start date with you.

    Yes. Holland & Knight provides the support you need to build and expand your practice. With practice groups and industry-based teams comprised of more than 1,100 lawyers and professionals, you will have opportunities to draw upon our expertise. Regular team meetings across offices offer our lawyers the opportunity to discuss and learn about current transactions, cases, strategy and other developments.

    We are dedicated to providing you with the resources needed to hit the ground running. To that end, we will develop for you an orientation and integration program to assist with your transition. We provide you with dedicated client transfer and marketing assistance. We also create opportunities for you to meet your new colleagues by coordinating networking functions.

  • What is the compensation structure for associates?

    Holland & Knight reviews its associate salaries at least annually. Associate salaries may vary by market and are based upon your years of experience. Annually, associates are also eligible for a billable/approved creditable hour bonus and a discretionary bonus.

    Yes. We have both non-equity and equity partner classifications.
