Intellectual Property and Technology: Alert - November 17, 2009

Governor Patrick’s Office of Consumer Af¬fairs and Business Regulation announced on November 4, 2009, that it has filed the final Massachusetts ID Theft Regulation, also known as 201 CMR 17:00. The goal of Regulation 201 is to help combat the loss of personal information; the most significant change is a require¬ment that covered entities amend existing agreements that they have with third-party service providers to include language requiring these providers to implement and main¬tain “appropriate” security measures for the protection of personal information.

Holland & Knight Partner Contributes to LexisNexis Florida Personal Injury Litigation Book

Lyndy Lambert was asked to be a consulting author by the Chief Judge-Elect for Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal.

Lyndy Lambert, a partner in Holland & Knight’s Miami office, is one of four consulting authors on a guidebook about Florida personal injury litigation recently published by LexisNexis. This comprehensive guidebook, titled "LexisNexis Practice Guide: Florida Personal Injury," consists of 11 chapters, including chapters on product liability, premises liability, intentional torts, motor vehicle negligence, general liability, wrongful death and damages. Ms. Lambert contributed extensively to each of these chapters and to the overall organization of the book. She was the primary author of the chapter on damages, which is highlighted in the marketing materials in the Lexis bookstore Web site at http://bookstore.lexis.com/bookstore/product/63240.html.

Ms. Lambert was honored to be invited to join the writing and editing team by Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal Chief Judge-Elect David Gersten, the judicial consultant on the book. This book is available in hard copy and electronic formats at www.Lexis.com. Ms. Lambert’s next publishing project will be a book on forensic neuropsychology, which she will co-author with two of the country’s leading neuropsychologists.
