Overview

Steven Sonberg is the chair emeritus of Holland & Knight. From 2008 to 2024, Mr. Sonberg served as managing partner, overseeing the strategic growth and direction of the firm and the management of all aspects of the firm's operations. During his 16-year term, the firm grew to the 25th largest firm, by revenue, in the United States. Prior to his election as managing partner in 2008, he served for five years as chair of the firm's Business Law Section.

Mr. Sonberg is a corporate lawyer whose practice focused on the areas of general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, securities law and corporate governance. His practice included the representation of public and private corporate entities, offerings of equity securities and debt, corporate finance matters, and matters involving corporate governance. He has also represented private wealth clients in partnership, investment, and general planning matters. Mr. Sonberg has represented clients engaged in a variety of business sectors, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, real estate and transportation.
