Overview

For decades, the Jacksonville office has proudly provided clients with comprehensive legal representation to help achieve their goals. Our attorneys focus on the transportation, logistics, healthcare, energy including electric cooperatives, real estate, technology, hospitality and financial services industries, as well as provide comprehensive representation for high-net worth families and family-owned businesses. The main practice areas include commercial litigation, including class actions and "Bet the Company" litigation; real estate, including land use and zoning; corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), public companies and securities, and private investment fund formation; and private wealth services, including wealth planning, nonprofit/tax-exempt organizations, and trust and estate administration; as well as sports and media representation.

The office has a robust litigation practice and represents clients in a wide range of areas, including disputes relating to transportation, healthcare, banking, insurance, construction, antitrust, trade secrets, intellectual property and defense of individual and class action claims based upon state and federal consumer protection laws. We advise on public and private securities offerings, corporate acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, reorganizations, syndication and finance, asset acquisitions and dispositions, venture capital investments, shareholder agreements, operating agreements, partnership agreements and employment agreements. We also counsel on complex real estate transactions, including master-planned communities, condominium, mixed-use and resort developments, as well as related environmental, safety and health matters. Our private wealth services team regularly assists with the drafting and administration of complex estates and trusts; advises private clients regarding the formation and administration of exempt organizations, including related tax law considerations; and provides counsel regarding trust and estate administration, as well as any related fiduciary litigation.

A number of our Jacksonville attorneys are highly experienced in the transportation, logistics and warehouse areas, in which we represent railroads, motor carriers and ocean carriers as well as shippers and other entities engaged in the transportation business in litigation, transactional and regulatory matters, including executive compensation and employee benefits.

We also are extremely active in the community, with our attorneys contributing thousands of pro bono hours every year and annually donating substantial time and money to local nonprofit organizations.
