It was the first case reviewed by the State Attorney's Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU), which reviews claims of wrongful conviction.

Holland & Knight obtained a $2.8 million stipulated judgment for actor Mickey Rooney in an elder abuse lawsuit against his stepson, who was accused of misappropriating millions of dollars while he controlled the aging actor's financial affairs. After Rooney's death, the firm successfully defended his will against challenges by his estranged wife and children.
Creating Tax-Exempt Solutions for Hurricane-Ravaged City
Holland & Knight's private wealth and corporate services attorneys provided pro bono counsel to a Bay County, Fla., municipal government after the city was devastated by Hurricane Michael on Oct. 10, 2018. Prevailing in $25 Million Trust Dispute
When faced with a $25 million dispute over which trust should pay certain estate taxes and other expenses, a large trust turned to Holland & Knight's highly experienced trusts and estates lawyers. The Superior Court ruled in our favor and ordered the other trust to pay all of the items at issue.
