2013 International White Collar Crime Conference

White Collar Defense Partner William Shepherd and Taxation Partner Kevin Packman will speak at the ABA's 2013 International White Collar Crime Conference that brings together professionals in the field to network and learn from one another.

Mr. Shepherd will speak on a panel titled "The Global Expansion of Deferred and Non-Prosecution Agreements - Lessons Learned from the U.S. and Strategies for Avoiding Collateral Consequences of Settlement." Topics include:

• potential settlement tools in white collar criminal investigations
• utilization of these tools in the United States
• strategies for avoiding collateral consequences from settlements

Mr. Packman will speak on a panel titled "Aggressive Enforcement of Tax Laws by the US, UK, and Other EU Members against Bank Secrecy Jurisdictions – The Impact of FATCA and Other Legislation." Topics include:

• recent enforcement action and guidance
• emerging risk areas
• strategies for effective tax compliance programs
