Lending and Leasing to Servicemembers

Please join representatives from Holland & Knight, the Association of Military Banks of America, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for "Lending and Leasing to Servicemembers: Complying with the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act and Military Lending Act." Our highly informative presentation will explore current issues and enforcement under both acts.

Topics Include:

• analysis and expectations of the various federal agencies that have jurisdiction and authority for investigating and enforcing violations of the acts
• protections under the acts, to include the 6 percent interest rate reduction, military annual percentage rate (MAPR) disclosures, and restrictions on lease terminations, foreclosures, repossessions and default judgments
• eligibility of servicemembers and their dependents for the different protections under each of the acts
• recent private causes of action and reputational risks associated with not being in compliance with the acts

This event will benefit general counsels, assistant general counsels, associate general counsels, and compliance officers at banks, mortgage servicers and other lending institutions.
