FTC’s New “Made in USA” Labeling Rule
Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA)
International Trade attorney Andrew McAllister and litigation attorney Da'Morus Cohen will join a webinar hosted by the Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA) to discuss the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) recently issued final rule on “Made in USA” and other unqualified U.S.-origin claims on product labels. The rule codifies FTC’s previous decisions and prohibits manufacturers and marketers from making “Made in USA” claims on labels unless: (1) Final assembly or processing of the product occurs in the U.S., (2) all significant processing that goes into the product occurs in the U.S., and (3) all or virtually all ingredients or components of the product are made and sourced in the U.S. Our attorneys will provide context regarding origin claims, discuss domestic preference programs when selling to the government, and explain enforcement and compliance of this new rule so your business is prepared.
