Biogas Project Financial Instruments – The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 and EPA SET Rule

Energy and tax attorney Amish Shah will participate in a Water Environment Federation webinar focused on federal funding and environmental credit opportunities for anaerobic digestion and biogas projects. Speakers will look at the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) finalized SET Rule as part of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), covering the Investment Tax Credits and Production Tax Credits in the IRA as well as changes under the SET Rule that established a three-year renewable volume obligation (RVO) and allowed for production of both D3 and D5 Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) for co-digestion projects. The session will also explore how these developments will affect technology solutions, speed of project execution and project delivery method.
