Environment attorney Amy Edwards will participate in an American Bar Association (ABA) webinar providing an overview of greenwashing and emerging regulatory developments. Greenwashing, commonly described as false or misleading claims that make a product or business seem more environmentally friendly than it actually is, has raised concern in recent years with the expansion of environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting along with scrutiny from state and federal authorities like the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC). During this webinar, Ms. Edwards and panelists will look at the history of greenwashing, case studies and litigation involving it, and applicable domestic and foreign laws and regulations. The speakers will also explore the potential scope of future greenwashing regulation, including the FTC's anticipated updates to its Green Guides, in addition to tips for environmental practitioners and business advisers.
