Using ADR Tools to Minimize Risk in the Era of Nuclear Verdicts
International Institute of Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR Institute)
Suite 400, North Tower
Los Angeles, CA 90067
International Arbitration and Litigation Team Leader Adolfo Jimenez will moderate a panel discussion exploring the rise of "nuclear verdicts" and ways companies can use alternative dispute resolution (ADR) to minimize the chances of facing one. Trial lawyer advertising, third-party litigation funding and so-called "reptile tactics" have contributed to the increase in nuclear verdicts, which refer to jury awards exceeding $10 million. During this program, in-house counsel will explain how to use tools developed through ADR to mitigate the risks these types of cases pose for business stability, profitability and insurance access.
This hybrid event will be offered in person at DLA Piper's Century City office or online via Zoom.
