Virtual Encounter: New Regulations for Free, Open and Uncensored Access in Cuba
Cuba Action Team Partner Aymee Valdivia was interviewed by Telemundo 51 Miami about the continued protests in Cuba and the U.S. Department of the Treasury's response to them. The department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) issued a fact sheet that summarizes current regulations with respect to telecommunications services in Cuba as well as describes what can be done to provide these services to the country. Ms. Valdivia explained the practical effects of the document and what else OFAC is doing to help ensure free and open internet access in Cuba.
