South Florida Condo Collapse: Actions to be Taken
Holland & Knight, in cooperation with the Council of New York Cooperatives & Condominiums (CNYC), hosted a discussion of actions to be taken following the Surfside, Florida, condo collapse and its implications for New York condominiums and cooperatives.
The speakers commented on the recent disaster and its potential effect on New York structures, including how to identify the portions of buildings that need to be examined and repaired or replaced on a regular basis and the risk areas of pre-war, post-war and modern glass and steel buildings. The presentation also covered specific legislation that has been drafted to mitigate future risk.
