Bloomberg Law
Immigration attorney Leon Fresco joined a Bloomberg Law podcast where he discussed the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) decision to end Title 42 and the expected increase of immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border. Title 42 allows the CDC to turn away migrants and asylum seekers at the border in the interest of public health, particularly during a situation like the pandemic, and the CDC announced it will lift it on May 23, 2022. Mr. Fresco discussed the buildup of people waiting across the border until the policy is lifted and talked about whether or not the Biden Administration is prepared for the anticipated influx in immigrants.
