Since June 1970, Pride celebrations have remembered the June 28, 1969 Stonewall uprising, and recognized the trans activists of color, among others, who resisted police brutality and harassment against queer and trans communities.
Throughout June, we honor the LGBTQ+ community; we recognize its resilience, unfettered love, powerful sense of self, and invaluable contributions to society. Pride is a celebration of love and self-expression in all their forms, a testament to ongoing fights for equity, and a tribute to the individuals and communities whose activism has paved the way for progress.
This month, we pay homage to the diverse voices within the LGBTQ+ community, underscoring the importance of acceptance, inclusion, and ongoing learning. Let's stand together in solidarity, uplift each other, and continue to strive for a world that embraces, celebrates and respects every individual, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
