Public Finances and Their Impact on the Colombian Mining Sector

Mining attorney Estefanny Pardo presented a new radio program in partnership with La Voz Minera EMG titled “Minería al Día con Estefanny Pardo.” In this episode, Ms. Pardo discusses various issues impacting the mining industry and government financial policies in Colombia. Ms. Pardo highlights the financial imbalance faced by the government because of an error that led to an saturated tax market and increased income tax advances. The episode delves into three key factors contributing to this imbalance: reliance on projected revenues from tax disputes, overestimation of economic growth and a constitutional court ruling on non-deductibility of royalties.
