The United States Supreme Court Narrows Diversity Jurisdiction for Business Trusts

On March 7, 2016, the United States Supreme Court made it more difficult for business trusts to establish diversity jurisdiction in federal court.  Absent Congressional intervention, what was once a simple analysis may now be so complicated that it may substantially narrow business trusts’ access to federal courts.
