Colombia Chapter

Holland & Knight attorneys José Zapata and Claro Manuel Cotes have co-authored the chapter on Colombia in the sixth edition of The Oil and Gas Law Review, which was written by leading energy practitioners from around the world and includes 25 chapters that each deal with the oil and gas industry in a particular country.

Colombia elected Iván Duque as its president in summer 2018, and the new government has a vision of attracting foreign investors through the implementation of regulations that promote industries such as the oil and gas sector. In addition, the government has expressed its strong intention to increase offshore production, which has been evidenced, for example, in new discoveries in the Colombia Caribbean sea.
