The Purpose of the Powerful Statewide Grand Jury

Attorneys William Shepherd and Jeff Schacknow co-authored an article which discusses the Florida Supreme Court grand jury convening to address a new focus on school safety, as the one-year anniversary of the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has passed. Governor Ron DeSantis, who petitioned for the meeting, seeks to determine the possibility of malfeasance committed by public officials last year, which could lead to a similar tragedy happening in the future.
