Labor, Employment and Benefits Attorney Jimena Nieto wrote an article for Asuntos Legales titled "Validity of Extra-Conventional Agreements in Colombia" explaining the validity of entering into extra-conventional agreements (i.e., without the submission of a petition by a union) or the denunciation of a current collective agreement by an employer. She also explains (i) what type of agreements may be reached between trade unions and employers, (ii) whether the agreements may worsen conditions already agreed upon and (iii) whether they must comply with any solemnity.
