Energy attorney Milton Montoya published an article in La República exploring how to achieve a just energy transition in Colombia. Mr. Montoya explains that there is real concern in the industry, thought leaders and other actors in the sector regarding energy self-sufficiency in the country. The article emphasizes that an energy transition whose public policy decisions cause the restriction or limitation, permanent or temporary, of access to vital services, is not a just energy transition. With that in mind, the author highlights the importance of including proactive institutional leadership and partnership in the social management of projects throughout this process.
