Railway Reactivation: Reality or Fantasy?

Infrastructure attorneys Edwin Cortés and María Alejandra Gómez wrote an article for Legal Industry Reviews analyzing a decree that can drive the renovation of the rail industry in Colombia. Decree 510 of 2024 eliminates the Environmental License requirement for those projects that improve currently existing infrastructure, as along as the trains are powered by electricity, hydrogen or other means of low gas emissions. In this article, the authors explain how this regulatory developments marks an important step in the railway reactivation in the country.
