U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Announces Updates to Policies on Research Misconduct

Healthcare attorneys Summer Martin, Rebecca Merrill and Dan Silverboard co-authored an article included in Pratt's Government Contracting Law Report discussing the 2024 Public Health Service (PHS) Policies on Research Misconduct released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The updated regulations, effective Jan. 1, 2025, aim to address technological advancements and clarify institutional responsibilities, with changes to confidentiality obligations, investigation requirements and the appeal process. Additionally, the Office of Research Integrity plans to provide sample policies and guidance to assist PHS-funded entities in meeting these new requirements.
