Businesses Need to Start Dealing with Health Reform

Jacksonville Business Journal

Business decisions that are related to the Affordable Care Act make a big impact on recruiting and retaining employees. Partner Christina Schwing was a recent panelist at a Jacksonville Business Journal breakfast, which focused on the issues facing businesses under healthcare reform. Since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on the ACA, businesses need to kick start their course of action.

"If your business does offer a plan," Schwing said, "it needs to meet the government's definition of minimal essential coverage ... and it must be affordable, meaning it costs less than 9.5 percent of the employee's household income."
