The Morning Risk Report: FTC to Take Stock After Cybersecurity Loss

A recent dismissal of an FTC data security case may hurt the agency as it seeks to bring consumer protection cybersecurity cases. Attorney Tony DiResta says the rare loss for the FTC will make the agency take stock.
"The decision should humble the FTC staff when investigating or evaluating unfairness for data security matters," Mr. DiResta said. "I don’t think it’s going to chill their enthusiasm but I do think it needs to give them pause."
