Federal Spending Bill Target for Lingering Health Policy Issues
Healthcare industry groups are urging various policy changes to be included in the federal spending bill - which lawmakers and lobbyists are pushing and expected to pass early December.
If lawmakers can't come to an agreement by Dec. 8, they likely will pass a short-term spending measure to keep the government funded that doesn't include many other provisions. If that happens, it's possible some pressing issues, such as CHIP reauthorization, pass as standalone bills and the remaining issues won't be addressed until Congress passes a long-term spending bill, Senior Policy Advisor Miranda Franco told Bloomberg Law.
