Huawei to Sue U.S. Government Over Equipment Ban
Government Contracts Partner Eric Crusius spoke with Financial Times on whether or not the Huawei equipment in the U.S. telecoms networks constitutes as a security threat. Mr. Crusius discusses whether the ban under the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on government agencies buying equipment from the Chinese company will be upheld.
“The government is not allowed to pass a bill which punishes a person or company. The key is whether a judge decides this is punishment, or a legitimate attempt by the government to defend itself,” said Mr. Crusius.
