Colombian Watchdog to Probe Zoom's Data Privacy
Global Data Review
Partner Danilo Romero Raad was interviewed for a Global Data Review story discussing an investigation into Zoom's privacy and security practices. Colombia's Superintendency of Industry and Commerce announced the investigation as the COVID-19 pandemic has generated a dramatic increase in the number of people using Zoom. Mr. Romero Raad commented that the investigation was long-expected and explained the potential penalties if regulators find the company does not comply with privacy laws.
"The Colombian authority has been strengthening its supervision of matters relating to the processing of personal data," he said. "In the last year, it has been appreciated that it is being stricter with privacy issues."
