Public Policy & Regulation attorney Taite McDonald spoke to Business Insider about her work assisting electric-vehicle startups in the SPAC gold rush. With more electric-vehicle and charging-network companies merging with blank-check companies in order to go public, newcomers are able to quickly raise large amounts of money and avoid venture-capital funding.

The article explains that capital markets, tech and regulatory lawyers have taken the lead in ushering early-stage companies to the public market and advising companies on the mechanics of completing SPAC deals, as well as on reporting and compliance once the company is public.
