"One of the Effects of the OPA on the GEA May Be That There Are More Delistings of the Stock Market"

Capital markets and finance attorney Camilo Gantiva Hidalgo was interviewed by Asuntos Legales about his decision to join Holland & Knight's Bogotá office and the outlook for Colombian capital markets. Mr. Gantiva Hidalgo spoke about his plans as part of the firm's team, shared his analysis of the country's capital market reform and answered some questions about the effect of takeover bids (OPA).

"I anticipate that there will be less liquidity in the market... On the other hand, I believe that this leads issuers to rethink aspects of corporate governance and practices to benefit investors, especially if they want to avoid situations of hostile takeovers," he said.
