Build Back Better, Defense Spending Drive High Revenues for Law Firm Lobby Shops
Public Policy & Regulation attorney Rich Gold was interviewed by The National Law Journal for an article about the Build Back Better bill and United States Senate's announcement of extra spending on defense, which can potentially heighten revenue for lobbyists. Mr. Gold said the Build Back Better package and defense spending, as well as the America Competes Act and U.S. Innovation and Competition Act (USICA), have also increased client need. He explained that both acts are generating a lot of demand for lobbying services since these provide investment in emerging technologies, which increase scientific research and development funding.
"You’ve got folks in the tech and semiconductor industries, all competing for USICA," he said. "There are also a lot of climate technology companies who have been working on both Build Back Better and infrastructure implementation."
