What Firms Want to See When Summers Come to the Office

Holland & Knight Co-Hiring Partner Megan Schmid was featured in a Law360 article discussing what law firms expect from their summer associates. In the article, Ms. Schmid emphasizes that instead of perfection, firms look for a willingness to learn.

"I call it coachability," she said. "We're not looking for perfection; we're looking for coachability."

Additionally, she provided advice for summer associates on how to navigate office dynamics, take advantage of opportunities to build relationships and incorporate feedback into their work. 

"When summer associates receive feedback on a project, they should make sure they incorporate that advice into the next project they handle — because partners and associates will notice," she said.
