Know the Income from Image Use That Must Be Declared in Taxes
Tax attorney Rafael Lafont was cited in an article published by Asuntos Legales that addresses the tax implications of income from the use of a personal image. Recently there have been cases of tax evasion involving prominent figures like the singer Shakira and Real Madrid trainer Carlo Ancelotti as a result of not including this income in tax declarations. Mr. Lafont explained that income from the use of a personal image can come from a variety of sources, such as digital content, and that if the income is received in a national territory, it can be subject to the tax regulations of the country.
"All income generated by a person is susceptible to income tax to the extent that it increases the assets of the person who collects it, including income from the use of image," he highlighted.
