2024 Election Could Be Crossroads for Clean Energy Funding

The article explored how the election outcome could significantly affect the implementation of legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Ms. McDonald commented on the possibility of repealing parts of these programs and explained clean energy developers might have to interface directly with the government to be able to keep taking advantage of loans and grants offered through them.

"Legally, it is challenging to unwind these programs," McDonald said. "It will be up to companies to work with the administration and Congress to ensure that the programs continue to be implemented."
