U.S. Elections: Oil, Biofuel Industries Weigh Uncertain Impact of Trump Tariffs
Oil and Gas attorney Jim Noe was quoted in an article from S&P Global Commodity Insights about the potential impact of tariffs on the U.S. oil industry. Throughout his campaign, former President Donald Trump has discussed implementing tariffs as high as 20 percent on all U.S. imports. Mr. Noe weighed in on concerns voiced by some industry leaders who believe oil companies will pass higher costs of importing fuel on to the consumer.
"The industry is very concerned, not as a potential hindrance to their export of oil and gas to other countries, but on the impact of their supply chain," he said. "It's really one of the sole areas of disagreement between the traditional oil and gas sector and a potential Trump Administration."
