Claro Did Not Stop the Registration of the CLR Card Trademark with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce

Intellectual Property attorney Danilo Romero was cited in an article published by Asuntos Legales about the recent decision by Colombia's Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) that allowed the registration of the mixed trademark CLR Card by CF Tech Colombia. The company argued that the CLR sign could be confused with its registered trademarks, but the SIC concluded that there would be no direct market confusion. Mr. Romero shared his reaction to the SIC's decision.

"The analysis conducted by the Superintendence was correct, as it considered the overall signs and graphic components to conclude that no direct market confusion would occur," he said.
