John Dadakis Joins Holland & Knight's Private Wealth Services Practice Group in New York
New Partner Adds to Family Business Practice in Country's Largest
Private Wealth Services Practice Group
New York – May 20, 2010 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that John Dadakis has joined the firm's New York office as a partner in the firm's Private Wealth Services (PWS) practice group. His practice provides personal general counsel to private clients on asset protection, tax minimization and wealth transference.
Holland & Knight's Private Wealth Group is highly-respected in the industry and has more Fellows in the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel (ACTEC) than any other law firm in the country. The addition of Dadakis further strengthens the firm's New York and national practices.
"John brings a stellar national private client practice in which he manages and protects the assets of a select group of Fortune 500 executives and private business entrepreneurs. His extensive personal general counsel practice will create an array of additional options for our private clients, both in New York and nationally," said Edward Koren, partner and practice group leader for the firm's PWS practice.
"I'm thrilled to be joining Holland & Knight and it's impressive team of private wealth professionals, some of whom I've known for 20 years," said Dadakis.
Dadakis' personal counsel extends far beyond financial matters and into areas of psychology, social and civic goals and family relationships. In addition to advising clients on matters that include the structure of the family business, crafting a Family Constitution, or the sale of a client’s jet, Dadakis:
- uses generation-skipping transfers and trusts to transfer venture capital/private equity holdings to next generations and structure the transfer of wealth;
- extends a family's philanthropic purposes and educates offspring in responsible giving by developing charitable vehicles;
- and instills a family's wealth transference values by using particular limited liability companies.
Dadakis' clients include executives at major public companies and principals at hedge funds and private equity firms. He is one of the founders of Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprises, an international multi-disciplinary group that focuses on the needs of family businesses. Dadakis received a J.D. from Fordham University.
