Tallahassee Holland & Knight Attorneys Honored by Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division
Tallahassee, FL – May 19, 2010 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Tallahassee Holland & Knight attorneys Karen D. Walker and Gigi Rollini have been selected as this year’s recipients of two Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division awards. Both awards stemmed from nominations by Tallahassee Women Lawyers (TWL), a chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL). The awards will be presented at The Florida Bar’s Annual Meeting Joint Awards Luncheon on June 25, 2010, in Boca Raton, Fla.
Walker will receive the Michael K. Reese Quality of Life Award. This award is given to the person and/or entity, which through humanitarian respect advances balance and fulfillment in lawyers' lives by redefining current work habits and schedules to provide more flexibility and a more meaningful existence. Walker was nominated for her ability to balance her legal career with her personal life. More specifically, she was recognized for her involvement with Holland & Knight's Women's Initiative and her participation in the development of the firm's Balanced Hours policy, which has provided unique professional opportunities for attorneys in the firm who need or want to work alternative schedules due to responsibilities and interests outside of the firm.
Rollini will be honored with the Lynn Futch Most Productive Young Lawyer Award. This award is given to a young lawyer who is not a member of the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors, who has worked diligently in the past year in Bar activities or law-related public activities and who has an excellent reputation for legal abilities and integrity. TWL nominated Rollini for her simultaneous service to TWL and to FAWL, her pro bono work at Holland & Knight, and her exceptional reputation as a Florida appellate lawyer. Rollini currently serves as President of TWL and, on July 1, 2010, will begin her term as President of FAWL.

Karen Walker serves as Executive Partner of the Tallahassee office and is a member of the firm's Directors Committee. Her practice encompasses all aspects of Florida administrative law with a particular emphasis on Florida state and local procurement matters.
Gigi Rollini is a litigator in Holland & Knight’s Tallahassee office. Her practice focuses on Florida appellate law, particularly appeals to Florida’s District Courts of Appeal, and on all aspects of Florida administrative law.
