Karen Walker and Shannon Hartsfield Appointed to American Bar Association Leadership Positions
Tallahassee, Fla. – July 25, 2011 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Karen Walker and Shannon Hartsfield, both partners in the firm's Tallahassee office have recently been appointed to American Bar Association leadership positions. The appointments are for the 2011 – 2012 Bar Year which begins on September 1, 2011 and ends on August 31, 2012.
Karen Walker, Executive Partner of the firm's Tallahassee office, has been reappointed to serve as the Vice-Chair of the ABA Section of Public Contract Law State and Local Division and reappointed Co-Chair of the IT Procurement Committee within the Section of Public Contract Law's State and Local Division. The Section of Public Contract Law is committed to the improvement of the public procurement process and upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.
Walker practices in the firm's Public Policy and Regulation Group. Her practice encompasses all aspects of Florida administrative law, and she has a broad range of experience in Florida state and local government procurement matters.
Shannon Hartsfield was appointed Co-Chair of the Programs Executive Committee and Vice Chair of Teleconference Committee. Both of these committees are part of the ABA's Health Law Section. Members of the Health Law Section represent all areas of the health law industry and are committed to educating the legal profession in this rapidly changing area of practice.
Hartsfield is the Regulatory and Litigation leader of the firm's national Healthcare & Life Sciences Team. She practices in the area of health law, advising clients on state and federal healthcare regulatory matters including corporate and regulatory compliance, data privacy, licensure, prescription drug distribution and pharmaceutical pedigree requirements and telemedicine.
