Holland & Knight Partner Janis Schiff Chosen for Bisnow's Inaugural List of "Commercial Real Estate Power Women"
Washington, D.C. (December 30, 2013) — Holland & Knight Partner Janis Schiff has been selected as one of Real Estate Bisnow's "Commercial Real Estate Power Women" in Washington, D.C. This is the first time the online commercial real estate publication has developed such a list, with the goal of honoring women who have made the biggest impact and have had the most influence in the industry in recent years.
Ms. Schiff represents regional and national property owners, asset managers and investors in all types of real estate investments, including foreign investments in the United States. Her experience includes developments in retail, residential, condominium, office, mixed-use and hotel properties. The matters she handles includes public-private partnerships, government leasing, financial workouts and restructurings, acquisition and sales contracts, and borrower and lender representations.
In addition, Ms. Schiff is active in the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Urban Land Institute, the Washington, D.C., Economic Partnership and the suburban Maryland chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women. She was honored earlier in 2013 as one of the "Women Who Mean Business" by the Washington Business Journal. Ms. Schiff serves on the board of directors of Junior Achievement in the D.C. region and the Washington Board of Trade and was elected in 2013 to a two-year term as chair of the board of directors for Easter Seals, Greater Washington-Baltimore region.
The "Commercial Real Estate Power Women" will be honored at an event on January 28, 2014, at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
