Holland & Knight Partner Bob Tompkins Named Government Contracts MVP by Law360
WASHINGTON (January 6, 2015) – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Bob Tompkins, a partner in the Washington, D.C., office and co-chair of the firm’s Government Contracts Group, has been named a Government Contracts MVP by Law360, the leading legal news wire for business lawyers. Law360’s MVP awards are given annually to a select group of attorneys in recognition of their successes in high-stakes litigation, record-breaking deals and complex global matters.
In selecting Mr. Tompkins, Law360 noted his "stellar reputation for his work on numerous high-profile bid protests and other government contracts matters," including helping a client secure a victory in a dispute involving a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development program worth $250 million annually at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The government has filed a petition for review by the U.S. Supreme Court, which rarely hears government contracts cases.
Mr. Tompkins joined Holland & Knight in January 2014 to help expand its already substantial government contracts practice and to further enhance its position in Washington as a leading firm at the intersection of business and government. He provides strategic advice and counsel to government contractors, their management and investors with respect to government contract protests and disputes, government investigations and related proceedings such as suspension and debarment, mergers and acquisitions, and matters related to the U.S. Small Business Administration government contracting programs, as well as general counseling.
"I am honored to be recognized among such an elite group of attorneys," said Mr. Tompkins on being a Law360 MVP award winner. "But I couldn’t have done it without the support and collaboration of the great team at Holland & Knight."
