Holland & Knight Donates $40,000 for American Red Cross Hurricane Matthew Relief

MIAMI (November 21, 2016) – Holland & Knight has collected more than $40,000 in donations for the American Red Cross Hurricane Matthew Relief campaign. Personnel from across the firm came together to contribute $20,325 for the recovery effort, which the firm matched with its own contribution.

With U.S. officials reporting at least $10 billion in damage, Hurricane Matthew is the costliest hurricane since Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The Category 4 storm brought devastation to Haiti and caused severe damage to many communities in the Southeast U.S.

The American Red Cross is a client of the firm and Holland & Knight lawyers currently serve on the National Capital Region and South Florida Region board of directors.

"Our lawyers and staff can always be counted on to support our communities in times of crisis," said Managing Partner Steve Sonberg. "It’s especially gratifying when we can partner with a firm client to help it fulfill its mission."

The Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation: The Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation, Inc. was created in 1996 to support the increasing charitable activities of the employees of Holland & Knight LLP. The foundation, which is a public 501(c)(3) charity led by a board of directors, supports various nonprofit entities and underwrites several important educational programs.
