Holland & Knight Advises Banco Multiva on Multiple Loans to the State of Nuevo Leon
MEXICO CITY (June 12, 2017) – Holland & Knight advised Banco Multiva in two loans to the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon for a combined amount of MXN$4.3 billion (US$236 million) as part of a MXN$42.7 billion (US$2.3 billion) financial reorganization. The first transaction for MXN$500 million (US$27.5 million) closed on March 30. The second transaction for MXN$3.8 billion (US$209 million) closed on May 26.
This year Holland & Knight has advised Banco Multiva in a total of four loans to Nuevo Leon for a combined amount of MXN$6.6 billion (US$362 million), as part of this financial reorganization.
The loans were granted pursuant to the new law on financial discipline for federal entities and municipalities (Ley de Disciplina Financiera de las Entidades Federativas y los Municipios).
Banco Multiva was selected as lender to the state of Nuevo Leon through competitive bidding processes.
