Holland & Knight Honored by National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development
WASHINGTON (March 2, 2020) – The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) has selected Holland & Knight to receive its 2020 Corporate Advocate of the Year award. The award recognizes the firm’s long-standing support of NCAIED’s National Reservation Economic Summit (RES) and the pro bono legal services it has provided to the organization for many years.
NCAIED is the longest standing and largest American Indian business and economic development organization in Indian country. Each year it honors outstanding individuals and companies for their contributions to economic parity and the betterment of Indian communities.
“Each of us on the Holland & Knight team considers it a high honor to receive this recognition,” said James Meggesto, the leader of the firm’s Native American Law Team. “It is gratifying to work together each year with others in the Reservation Economic Summit to reach toward our common goal for robust economic growth in Indian Country.”
“Holland & Knight attorneys are proud of their long and close association with the National Center and with the annual RES conferences. These conferences have been key to our mission to assist tribes, Alaska Native corporations and the enterprises they own to become ever more successful in the worlds of business and government contracting,” said Holland & Knight partner Walter Featherly, a member of the firm’s Native American Law Team. “We look forward to continuing to support NCAIED with its important mission to promote Native American economic development.”
The award will be presented on March 5 at this year’s RES conference in Las Vegas.
