Holland & Knight Represents World Impact Foundation on Loan to Mexico’s Ecoblock
MEXICO CITY (July 9, 2020) – A Holland & Knight team represented World Impact Foundation, a California nonprofit corporation, on a pro bono basis in a US$500,000 loan agreement entered into with Ecoblock International, S.A. de C.V. The deal closed on June 12.
World Impact Foundation provides loans and grants to organizations that help lift people out of poverty. Ecoblock (also known as Échale) is a social housing company dedicated to providing marginalized communities in Mexico with opportunities to significantly improve their housing conditions. Ecoblock will use the loan for the construction of affordable housing and home rehabilitation projects in Mexico.
The transaction was led by Holland & Knight attorneys Herman Lipkis, Alejandro Landa and Rosa María Cuevas. The firm's work on the project was done on a pro bono basis.
