Holland & Knight’s Joshua Husbands Elected to Leadership Positions in American College of Trust and Estate Counsel; Robert Barton Named ACTEC Fellow
LOS ANGELES/PORTLAND, Ore. (April 8, 2021) – Holland & Knight Partner Joshua Husbands has been elected to the Board of Regents of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He will serve an initial three-year term. Mr. Husbands also was appointed Oregon state chair and chair of the Western Region, which includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. In addition, Partner Robert Barton has been accepted to join ACTEC as a fellow.
Mr. Husbands is a member of Holland & Knight's Private Wealth Services Group. He often serves as outside general counsel for private companies and their owners, representing clients in an array of business, tax, business succession and estate planning matters, including business reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Husbands frequently writes and speaks on business, tax, life insurance and asset protection matters concerning businesses and high-net-worth individuals. He resides in the firm's Portland, Oregon, office.
Also a member of Holland & Knight's Private Wealth Services Group, Mr. Barton represents individuals, families, charitable institutions, corporate trustees and private professional fiduciaries in litigation involving complex trusts and estates. In addition, he provides guidance on trust and estate administration, conservatorship and guardianship matters, and claims involving elder abuse. He resides in the firm's Los Angeles office.
