Suzanne Gilbert Reappointed to American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary

ORLANDO, Fla. (August 3, 2022) – Holland & Knight Partner Suzanne E. Gilbert has been reappointed by the American Bar Association (ABA) President Deborah Enix-Ross to serve another three-year term on its Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary representing the Eleventh Circuit federal courts. The Eleventh Circuit includes Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

The Standing Committee evaluates the professional qualifications of all Article III nominees to the United States Supreme Court, the United States circuit courts of appeals, the United States district courts and the Courts of International Trade, and all Article IV nominees to the territorial district courts of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. Specifically, the Standing Committee evaluates the nominees on the basis of integrity, professional competence and judicial temperament. 

The Standing Committee submits its final rating to the White House, the Senate Judiciary Committee and the United States Department of Justice to assist with the confirmation process. The 15-member committee consists of two members from the Ninth Circuit, one member from each of the other 12 federal circuits and one member-at-large.

Ms. Gilbert practices in the areas of financial and real estate litigation, business litigation and creditors' rights. Since 2007, she has served as the practice group leader for Holland & Knight's Central Florida Litigation Group. She is recognized as a leading attorney in her area by The Best Lawyers in America, maintains an "AV Preeminent" rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is included in Florida Trend's Legal Elite Hall of Fame.
