Yasmin Nelson, Former Advisor to Kamala Harris, Joins Holland & Knight's Public Policy & Regulation Group in Washington
WASHINGTON (September 6, 2023) – Holland & Knight welcomes Yasmin Nelson as a senior policy advisor in the firm's Public Policy & Regulation Group in Washington, D.C., Most recently, Ms. Nelson was a partner and senior principal at Bracewell, and prior to that, she was a senior policy advisor for then-U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris.
Ms. Nelson has a demonstrated history of bipartisan and bicameral work, aiding senators in passing legislation into law, shaping regulations and developing public policy proposals. While working for Sen. Harris, Ms. Nelson played a significant role in the senator's efforts to propose policies that would reform the tax code, expand the social safety net and advocate for greater equity in federal programming. She also previously served on the U.S. Senate Finance Committee under Ranking Member Sen. Ron Wyden and in the offices of Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Cory Booker, advising on economic and housing policy portfolios.
At Holland & Knight, Ms. Nelson will continue to advocate for clients on a broad range of issues, including financial services, tax, technology, gender policy, equity, cryptocurrency, energy, environment, banking and labor. She was named a top lobbyist in 2022 by The Hill and the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics.
