Prominent Renewable Energy and Tax Partner Elizabeth Crouse Joins Holland & Knight
PORTLAND, Ore. (September 3, 2024) – Holland & Knight has further strengthened its leading energy and tax practices with the addition of Elizabeth Crouse as a partner in Portland. Nationally recognized in the industry, Ms. Crouse advises clients on a range of U.S. federal income tax matters, including tax credits for the renewable energy industry. Most recently, Ms. Crouse was a partner at Perkins Coie.
For more than two decades, Ms. Crouse has provided business-focused solutions for U.S. federal, state and international tax matters in a variety of transactions and investment structures. Her clients include top-tier strategic and corporate investors, developers and operators in the renewable energy industry. Ms. Crouse advises clients on investment tax credits (ITC) and production tax credits (PTC) for renewable electricity, renewable natural gas (RNG), hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and other clean fuels, the Section 45Q tax credit for carbon capture and sequestration, and other tax credits made available by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Additionally, Ms. Crouse has advised clients on structuring and coordinating project finance transactions and has been involved in more than 11 gigawatts' (GW) worth of investment, procurement, development, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) contracts for U.S. renewable energy developers, investors and syndicators.
Ms. Crouse is co-director of the Seattle chapter of Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy and co-chairs the tax committee of the Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas, alongside Holland & Knight Partner Amish Shah.

Ms. Crouse earned a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School, an LL.M. degree from New York University School of Law, an M.A. degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a B.A. degree from Hawaii Pacific University.
